Would You Hire Your Website? | Website Job Descriptions Explained

Why You Should Call Your Website Into HR

Hey there, one of the most brilliant pieces of website advice I’ve ever received was so obvious, I nearly kicked myself for not thinking of it first:

Write your website’s job description.

Seriously. We often hear leaders say, “I’m not sure my website is doing a good job,” but they’ve also never set clear responsibilities, metrics, and qualifications for their website to fulfill.

Of course they’re not sure.

So, here’s today’s tip:

  1. Write the Key Responsibilities: What does your website need to do? Create awareness? Generate leads? Keep it to three items for now. (I’m looking at you, my Type A overachievers!)
  2. List Relevant Metrics: For each responsibility, note which metrics are critical to measure.
  3. Define Your Qualifications: Demonstrate authority. Show off your case studies.

So, does your website need to go on a PIP?

If so, stay tuned for next week’s email—or message us here.

With Gratitude,
The RedTree Team
