Reflections On 2024: Growth And Recognition Leading Into 2025

As we step deeper into the holiday season and approach January 1, we’re finding ourselves extra reflective.

One thing we’ve come to appreciate: 2024 was a banner year for us at RedTree.

See, when we turned the calendar to January 2024 nearly 12 months ago, we decided our theme for the year would be “Rooted Growth”—our catchphrase for the pursuit of intentional team- and operations-focused decisions.

And grow we did.

Among our biggest achievements in 2024:

We Made Three Incredible New Hires—And We Restructured Our Team

At the beginning of the year, we realized our team members were wearing too many hats, and too much of their time was spent on tasks outside of their direct area of expertise.

To course correct, we hired new team members:

Kristen Gerhart: Head of People & Operations

Kristen’s top-notch managerial skills help her connect with team members while understanding their motivations—and she’s been critical in helping us become more efficient.

Catherine Tsavalas: Project Manager

Catherine’s organization and communication skills have transformed her into an invaluable resource for team members and clients alike.

Davina Ward: SEO Strategist & Copywriter

With a mind for both strategy and creativity, Davina spearheads technical SEO and content for our clients, ultimately making their sites easier to read, navigate, and discover.

Frank Collins: Web Developer

Frank has a desire to problem solve and develop out systems, which is exactly what we needed at RedTree

At the same time, we promoted long-time Web Developer Nina Musser to Delivery Manager, where she’s uniquely positioned to simultaneously advocate for the needs of the business, the needs of the client, and the needs of our team members—while ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables!

We Transformed Our SOPs

Talking about standard operating procedures isn’t exactly sexy, but we completely overhauled ours.

When I first started RedTree, I’d take on any project that came my way, and that meant we’d try out services like social media management, email marketing, and more—so SOPs have always been essential in keeping us focused.

As we brought new team members and clients into the RedTree ecosystem, we realized we were lacking consistent processes to hand off from one person to the next.

It wasn’t always easy, but we outlined a ton of our processes—especially for our newest products and services.

Thanks to those efforts, we’re better equipped for even more growth in the months and years ahead.

We Stood Out In the Community

This was an exciting year for us from a few different angles:

We Sponsored the Pittsburgh AMA Marquee Awards

The Marquee Awards are the local American Marketing Association’s award ceremony for:

  • Up And Coming Marketers to Watch
  • Marketing Team or Agency of the Year
  • Marketer of the Year

We had the privilege of being 2024’s presenting sponsor!

We Received A Tech 50 Award Nomination

We were honored to receive a nomination for the Solutions Provider – Services category at the Pittsburgh Tech Council’s Tech 50 Awards, a celebration of the region’s most successful and innovative companies.

We might not have won this year, but we shared the spotlight with some of Pittsburgh’s biggest innovators and sharpest minds.

Our Founder Was Included In Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2024

Our Founder and CEO, Meesha Gerhart, was included in Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2024, a collection of professionals between the ages of 30 and 40 who are making outstanding contributions to their community, profession, and industry.

We Completed Our Biggest Project Ever

We partnered with another agency to spearhead a massive website rebuild for a leader in the Life Sciences and Data Center industries—completely re-imagining their branding and copy.

It was an all-hands-on-deck project for our team, and we moved from the initial discovery to launching the website in only 10 weeks! The most amazing part? We had to run it through two different sets of stakeholders—while still keeping the target audience top-of-mind.

It was our most challenging project to date, but we handled it with professionalism—and the results speak for themselves!
