Users First: How to Design a Website Your Audience Actually Needs

Your Website Invite List

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I’ve been looking forward to getting around the table with my family and friends.

But it’s also got me thinking: Do you know who’s at the table on your website?

And, more importantly: Did you set a place for the people you want at your table?

To be truly impactful to your business, your website should resonate with your true target audience—the people who are most likely to do business with you.

Here’s how to check if your website is speaking to your target users:

  1. Define who your ideal user is. Think about their age, education, location, occupation, and more.
  2. Define their pain points. What are they struggling with that only you can solve?
  3. Check your web copy, imagery, and videos. Is it all speaking directly to those users and those specific pain points?

If you’re coming up short, let’s chat.

With Gratitude,
