Since 2016 the Pittsburgh Business Show has been creating an experience for local Pittsburgh businesses. The goal has always been to create something different than the “typical trade show”. This two-day event features a showcase of businesses but also includes built-in times for speed networking, panel discussions, and keynote speakers.
For the last two years, we have attended and each time walked away with new connections and a greater understanding of the businesses and services provided in the local area. The first year we were able to connect with Piper Creative and being able to see their business grow through their vlogging and video creation has been unique to watch.
This year, having made more connections between shows, we were able to reconnect and connect with more professionals. More specifically, we wanted to support one of our clients, Kiya Tomlin, as she discussed, The New Business Attire For The Modern Woman. Being able to support Kiya and our other business connections allowed us to help the Pittsburgh Business Show maintain its goals.
Another reason we went this year was that we were nominated for the Pittsburgh Business Choice Award for web design & development. We went to the event to meet and create new connections but never thought we would win. A lot of the other companies we were up against had been in business longer than we have or were heavily involved in the community, so I thought, “no way," but attended with fingers crossed.
When the category winners were being announced, I was in the middle of a sentence and then I turned to hear, “Pittsburgh Choice for Web Design and Development….RedTree Web Design.” I was honestly shocked and as I walked onto the stage to meet the infamous Darieth Chisolm and Marlin Woods, I couldn’t help but feel a huge wave of support. I was literally so speechless that I didn’t know what to do or say besides smile and humbly say, “Thank You.”
